Staunton CUSD #6 Families:

Welcome back to another exciting school year! We are thrilled to have our students returning to the classrooms, bringing their energy, curiosity, and passion for learning. The start of a new school year is always filled with anticipation and hope, and this year is no exception. Our entire school community—from teachers to support staff—has been eagerly preparing to ensure that every student feels welcomed, inspired, and ready to succeed. We know that together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment where each child can thrive both academically and personally.

The first day of student attendance is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 and students will be in session from 8:10 AM - 3:05 PM. To review the entire school calendar for this school year, please follow this link: https://5il.co/2fbkf.

As we work to solidify the daily bus routes, please be patient with our Transportation Department staff. Please make sure your child is out at his/her bus stop early while route times are being finalized. If you have questions about Transportation, please call (618) 635-2962 ext. 232.

We are happy to continue our partnership with Opaa! Food Service this school year. Students are able to come to campus starting at 7:30 AM to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. Additionally, students in grades 6th - 12th grade will have the option to take a ‘Grab N’ Go’ breakfast at the Main Gym Entrance and the Library Entrance each morning. In addition, high school students will have the option to take a ‘Grab N’ Go’ lunch at the Library Entrance each afternoon.

As we embark on this journey, I want to assure you that our commitment to providing the absolute best educational experience for all students remains unwavering. Our dedicated staff has been working tirelessly to enhance our programs, integrate new teaching strategies, and build strong partnerships with families and the community. We are confident that this year will be filled with meaningful learning experiences, growth opportunities, and moments of joy. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to working hand in hand with you to make this school year our best one yet.

Sincerely,

Brett T. Allen
