Across the country, in our communities, we share everyday moments with our neighbors, family, coworkers, and friends. We go to work or school, the grocery store, or the gas station. It's easy to overlook these routine moments, but as you’re going about your day, if you see something that doesn't seem quite right, say something. By being alert and reporting suspicious activity to your local law enforcement, you can protect your family, neighbors, and community.

SHS--While you are preparing for Homecoming, send kbaima@stauntonschools.org and jlarsen@stauntonschools.org your best Anti-Rain Dance video. We will pick the most creative dance and reward you with an umbrella. As of 4:00 PM, the Homecoming Dance is still on. Please share this information with other SHS kids planning to attend tonight.

SHS--Are you at the Homecoming Game? If you have fun pictures of SHS kids at the game, on the field, in the band, cheering or dancing, please send the pictures (along with names of kids in the pictures) to mhendricks@stauntonschools.org. We would love to add your photos to our yearbook.
SHS Parents and Students--We hope you have had an enjoyable Homecoming Week! Many of us are looking forward to the Homecoming Dance. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is calling for rain and storms on Saturday night. We will be closely monitoring the weather to determine if we need to either delay or cancel the dance. Students must bring masks in the event that we have to temporarily move indoors due to lightning, high winds or heavy rain. Please be advised that if we do move indoors, it is just to seek shelter – not to continue the dance. If we are indoors for shelter and the weather passes quickly, we will resume the dance outside once it is safe to do so. Any student who chooses to leave for any reason will not be allowed back to the dance. If the dance does have to be cancelled, we will send out a communication via School Messenger, School Facebook, School Website and Schoology. We will also discuss the possibility of rescheduling the dance if it has to be canceled on Saturday. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through any potential weather situation. While we want everyone to have fun, our goal is also to provide a safe environment.
Freshman Volleyball under Coach Weller won the Civic Memorial Tournament. Awesome job! Keep up the good work.
