Hello Staunton teachers, staff, students, and families. As I begin my first year as Principal at Staunton Jr. High, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.
I grew up in Fairfield, IL. The Staunton community reminds me a lot of Fairfield with its friendly, rural atmosphere. My wife Alicia and I live in Maryville, IL. I started my career in education teaching social studies and physical education in Baton Rouge, LA and then moved to the Chicago area for a few years. The bulk of my administrative career so far took place in Collinsville, IL. I most recently served as Assistant Principal and Principal in the Harrmony-Emge School District in Belleville, IL. I attended Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I enjoy all sports, camping, running and family. One of my best friends is my golden retriever puppy, Ozzy.
I look forward to joining the Staunton Schools family! I am eager to start the school year and I look forward to meeting each one of you. Please let me know if I can help you in any way, my door is always open!
Sincerely,
Dr. John Griffith
