As the newly appointed president of the Staunton Board of Education, I would briefly like to address the recent events that have caused discussion within our community. My comments are simply to assure our students, parents and staff that the Staunton Board of Education is presently reviewing the concerns brought forth by the Staunton Federation of Teachers. However, the Board of Education has policies that establish a process that we must follow when complaints are made against any student, employee or board member, including the Superintendent of Schools. We intend to follow this process while looking into the Federation’s concerns, and fully intend to offer both the Federation and the Superintendent their legal rights afforded them under Board Policy and any contract of employment before hastily rushing to judgment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every member of our community for the civility, respect and decency they have exhibited during this tough time and I ask for your support and patience as due process is followed.
Respectfully,
Dr. Poonam Jain
President, Board of Education
CUSD 6

Dear Staunton Community,
Gym branding creates a fan experience unique to each venue, while also adding color and life to blank and boring concrete walls and empty spaces. When students and fans enter the facility, they need to be blown away by logos, colors, and designs that boost pride and foster unity among spectators. Wall, floor, bleacher, and seats all accomplish this goal.
The coaches have made significant improvements to the gym entrance and locker rooms. We have purchased 30 new bench chairs. New conference, regional, and state banners have been hung in the gym. To continue this unity, we need the parents, coaches, administrators, alumni, and community to come together to help in reaching this vision. We are asking for donations to help purchase new wall mats that will run from door to door in the gym. This wall padding will help keep players safe and add a unique aesthetic to our gym. It will help brand our gym into something we can all be proud of. Please help support Staunton Athletics by donating to this much needed product.
