Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Boyer
Mrs. Boyer is an all-around kind and helpful individual! Whether it was parents and teachers during her time as a secretary or students in her position as an aide, she always does her best to make sure everyone's needs are met. We were so happy to welcome her back this year!

Staff Spotlight: Mr. Smiddy
Students from Mr. Smiddy's class often leave with a greater understanding of 2 things: safety and patriotism. Mr. Smiddy was and has been instrumental in the creation and building of The Patriot Club Program (which will be performed for the 24th time this year!). His involvement in the community means that his face is one of our most familiar ones and we're lucky to have him!
Staunton Families: School will be dismissed on Friday, March 1st at 12:30 PM. Staff professional development will be taking place in the afternoon.

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Muffler
Mrs. Muffler has a knack for making all of her students feel important. Her classroom is a place where fun meets learning and everyone is welcome! She is a kind, friendly face at Staunton Elementary.
Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Klein
Time to highlight our 5th grade team!
Mrs. Klein has been in a few positions during her time with us! After teaching 4th graders and working as an interventionist, she joined the 5th grade team at the beginning of this school year. Mrs. Klein's focus on being kind and helping others are just a couple of the reasons her students love her!
!!FOOD DRIVE MADNESS!!
The junior high student council is gearing up to start their annual food drive!
Last year's food drive brought in over 7,300 items last year for Staunton Helping Hands! We love the exciting, healthy competition between our homerooms and grade levels school wide and hope every one is excited to participate again. We're hoping this year will be even more successful!
We will start with the carb round next week! Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Porter
Mrs. Porter is such a helpful person! Over the last 5 years, she has built many positive relationships with the students she interacts. We enjoy seeing how much pride she takes in helping students learn!
Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Nungesser
Mrs. Nungesser's classroom is such a comfortable place to be and learn. We love how welcome we feel in her presence and her passion for reading is inspiring. Mrs. Nungesser is such a valued member of our school community!
The 5th grade ELA students, with the help of SIUE student teachers, are encouraging you to “make kindness the norm” by spreading kindness on Saturday, 2/17. It is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, so go out there and “throw kindness like confetti!”

DOUBLE Staff Spotlight: Ms. Roy and Mrs. Kaffer
It's National School Counseling Week! So we decided to honor both of our amazing school counselors.
Ms. Roy's friendly face is one that kids look for when they need to work through something. She is trusted and loved by every student that she works with!
Mrs. Kaffer has made such a positive impact during her first year with us! She is approachable, easy to talk to, and a dedicated social worker/counselor.
We're lucky to have both of these amazing ladies and hope you'll join us in thanking them for all their hard work!
Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Brown is the perfect person to be working with kids. She is calm, helpful, and kind. We love watching her interact with students and staff!
