Dear Staunton CUSD #6 Families,
Due to the forecasted severe weather expected to move into our area this afternoon, all Staunton School District schools will dismiss early today (4/27/2026) at 1:30 PM. There will be no afternoon Preschool Classes.
This decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students and staff. All after-school activities and events scheduled for today are canceled.
We encourage families to review the latest weather forecast from the National Weather Service:
https://www.weather.gov/media/lsx/DssPacket.pdf
Please make any necessary arrangements for student pick-up or supervision following the early dismissal.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our school community.
Take a look at the progress on our new high school building! 🏫✨
Check out the video attached to see how far things have come. It’s exciting to watch the new building start to take shape, and we’re thrilled with the progress being made.
We can’t wait to welcome our SHS students into the new building for the 2026–2027 school year. Thank you to our community for your continued support as this project moves forward. It’s going to be an amazing new chapter for our students, staff, and town! 🎥
