Attention Staunton Families: Miles of Smiles Ltd. is providing preventative dental services at your school to ALL GRADES at no cost. Forms will be sent home 9/16/24 - 9/18/24 with ALL students. Staunton School District will be hosting a blood drive on Monday, September 23rd! The blood drive will take place in the Staunton School District Community Room located on the elementary side of the building from 3:00pm-6:00pm. By donating at this blood drive, you are helping one or more graduating seniors earn a scholarship! Tomorrow night is our first home game! We are excited to have everyone in attendance and wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of home game expectations. Please be respectful and let the players play, the coaches coach, and the refs ref. There is no alcohol or illegal substances (including vapes) allowed on campus, per Illinois State Law. Please refrain from going behind or underneath the bleachers. Please no throwing of footballs or other objects as they can go onto the field and cause game interruption. No pets are allowed on school grounds unless they are registered service animals. Small children should be supervised. Failure to follow these guidelines could result in being asked to leave the game. Go Bulldogs!!!

The Board of Education was thrilled to recognize senior student Nicholas Monahan at the August meeting! Nicholas presented on the Eagle Scout Project he completed for the school district, which involved the installation of improved shelving for instrument storage and uniform storage for the band program. This is the week of scrimmages for football, soccer, and volleyball. Football is Sat, 8/24 at Roxana. Soccer is Sun, 8/25 at 4:30 at the soccer field, and volleyball is at 6:00 on Sunday as well in the main gym. Our theme for Sunday's games are Olympics. We will be giving out a SUPER FAN award on Sunday so show up with a lot of school spirit.

Another exciting announcement from NATIONAL FFA today… For the 2nd year in a row, the Staunton FFA Chapter has been awarded a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 3 STAR ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ranking in the National Chapter Award Program. This is the highest ranking a chapter can receive! Congratulations to the chapter officers and members for working hard this past year to grow leaders, strengthen agriculture, and build communities! The National Chapter Award program is designed to recognize FFA chapters nationwide that are actively implementing the mission and strategies of the organization! Staunton FFA will be recognized on the national stage at the 97th National FFA Convention October 23-26, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Way to Lead • Challenge • Achieve!

Preschool - 8th Grade Open House will be held on August 12 from 5:30-7:30. Elementary students are welcome to come meet their teacher, preview their classroom, drop off supplies, and get any necessary information on healthcare and transportation. In addition to the above, our Junior High students will receive their locker assignments. New and returning students must be registered in order to get their teachers and / or schedules. If you have a new student to register, please call 618-635-3831 to make an appointment. Returning student registration should be done via Skyward. We hope to see you there. Just a reminder, the first day of school is Wednesday, August 14.

Reminder: Open House for the High School is Thursday, August 8th from 5:30 to 7:30. You can find your classrooms, locker, pick up a Chromebook, lock, buy your PE uniform, etc. We are excited to see everyone!

Reminder: We are excited to see everyone at Freshman Orientation in the main gym! 5:30 -6:00 you can grab a shirt (courtesy of the FFA), a hotdog, and learn about some clubs and organizations that you can participate in. 6 - 630 will be a presentation on credits, classes, driver's ed, etc. From 6:30 - 7:30 you can find your classrooms, pick up a Chromebook, lock, buy your PE uniform, etc. There will be students on hand to give tours and answer questions. If there is a question about your schedule, the counselor will also be on hand to answer questions and adjust anything. We look forward to seeing you!

High School Athletes: There is a parent/player meeting tomorrow from 6-7 pm Please bring a check for $75 to cover your sports fee, your physical if you have it, and your insurance information for the yellow card. We can’t wait for the 24/25 year to start!!
